WHERE IS THE RALLY?

READY TO MOVE OUT?

This year’s Detroit Marathon Pep Rally includes a family-style dinner. Come hungry and ready to catch up with your Hope Water Project community! We will have an informative presentation about race-day details, inspiring stories from the team that just returned from Kenya in August, and a special guest representative from Design Outreach speaking about the Life Pump--how it works and the results they are experiencing. Join us!

Move out and contribute toward clean water for the Pokot people of Kenya, while also helping our own Kensington team! We have lots of volunteer opportunities—anything from Friday's pep rally to Sunday's water stations. Email heather@hopewaterproject.org with questions.

We want to make planning for this exciting weekend as smooth as possible! Download our information packet for details on all events, including regulations, ID specifications, parking, times and locations and more.

Without access to clean water, no human being can thrive. A Pokot woman in western Kenya may walk up to 10 miles each day to gather water - which may not be clean and could cause illness. Fulfilling this basic need consumes so much time and energy that there is little left to invest in family, in education, in self-sustaining work, in dreams for a better future. There are more than one million Pokot people living in Kenya, and we want this to change for each of them.

There is a solution. Hope Water Project has been raising funds and awareness to meet this need among the Pokot people since 2012. We walk, run, and cycle with the goal of digging wells. We have already dug more than 110 wells, which impacts the lives of 220,000 people, and we have seen firsthand how clean water can change entire communities

Breaking this cycle for the Pokot, means we need to break ground. Imagine the hope that flows when the harsh, unforgiving, dry earth offers up sweet, clean, water! Would you join us in this life-giving undertaking? Join us by participating in an event, volunteering during Marathon weekend, or giving before October 21 toward our Matching Donation!
