Without access to clean water, no human being can thrive. A Pokot woman in western Kenya may walk up to 10 miles each day to gather water - which may not be clean and could cause illness. Fulfilling this basic need consumes so much time and energy that there is little left to invest in family, in education, in self-sustaining work, in dreams for a better future. There are more than one million Pokot people living in Kenya, and we want this to change for each of them.
There is a solution. Hope Water Project has been raising funds and awareness to meet this need among the Pokot people since 2012. We walk, run, and cycle with the goal of digging wells. We have already dug more than 131 wells, and we have seen firsthand how clean water can change entire communities
Breaking this cycle for the Pokot, means we need to break ground. Imagine the hope that flows when the harsh, unforgiving, dry earth offers up sweet, clean, water!
